In the background is the Giant Buddha in Mt. Lingshan: A bronze statue of Sakyamuni standing 88 metres tall on the slope of Lingshan Mountain in the Mashan District.
88 metres? That is a BIG buddha. The smaller disciples seem to be enjoying themselves.
Helen Tan: Chris, thanks for viewing. Believe me, at this angle, it looked BIG, but the big one is in the background. Please go to my blog at http://happysunshinedays.blogspot.com to view more pics of this fantastic place in China.
Beautiful photo! It evokes happiness. I wonder how the ststue is kept so clean!
Helen Tan: Hi Seraphine, Perhaps it is due to the constant touching and rubbing by everybody! Guess what, our tour leader told us to go round and touch the whole Buddha for luck! The same goes for the other tour groups as well.
